The Memphis Cook Convention Center was packed with blues musicians, fans, and music-world luminaries on May 9th to see who would be announced as winners at the 40th Annual Blues Music Awards. Ruthie Foster was the sole musician to retain their title as she again won the Koko Taylor Award for Traditional Blues Female Artist, her 9th Blues Music Award win overall.
