Rosanne Cash is due to release her first album in nearly 5 years, She Remembers Everything on Blue Note Records. The record will premiere on November 2nd, but NPR First Listen has provided an enticing pre-release opportunity to fans.
NPR First Listen is streaming the entire album early on account of her special album release party at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, NY. Cash will host the event on October 29th as “An Evening of Literature and Song”, where she will perform songs from She Remembers Everything.
The evening will also entail performances, speeches, and readings by creative women including activist, poet, and artist Staceyann Chin, writer Maria Popova, author A.M. Homes, and astrophysicist, author, and Director of Sciences at Pioneer Works, Janna Levin. These scholarly women will read works by the likes of Angela Davis, Ursula K. Le Guin, Tracey K. Smith, and more.

She Remembers Everything reflects on Rosanne’s return to songwriting and recounts her life’s experiences. NPR coined her song, “Not Many Miles to Go” as an “instant classic”, and Rolling Stone called the title track “profoundly stirring and unsettling.” The New York Times also gave early praise to the LP, saying its “graceful, thoughtful songs [are] constantly searching for emotional truth.”
