New Signing! Bette Smith

We are pleased to announce the addition of rock & soul singer Bette Smith to our roster for representation in North America. Bette traces elements of her life-affirming album The Good, The Bad and The Bette to her childhood in Brooklyn, NY. Musically, it connects to the gospel music she heard in church and the soul music on the corners. The release features guests Luther Dickinson from North Mississippi Allstars and Patterson Hood from Drive-By Truckers and was produced by Drive-By Truckers’ Matt Patton and engineer Bronson Tew. Receiving major praise the record landed on “Best Albums of 2020” list by legendary critic Jim DeRogatis, whose “Sound Opinions” is broadcast on over 100 NPR affiliates around the country. Now with concerts returning at last, audiences can experience the sassy, soulful singer live and see why Smith is being compared to Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and the Bettys (Davis and Wright). In summer 2021, Bette opened for the Drive-By Truckers and Kenny Wayne Shepherd across the Northeast and Midwest, and performed at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival (main stage) among others. We are booking 2022 dates now, so please let us know if interested.
