Josh Ritter’s ‘Fever Breaks’ on NPR First Listen

Josh Ritter’s 10th record, Fever Breaks, is due April 26th. It’s been 20 years since his debut release, and there’s a lot to celebrate. Fever Breaks boasts a new, skilled roster of collaborators – including Jason Isbell and 400 Unit as his backing band. The result of such a collaboration is the beautiful melding of Americana and “Southern-rock heft,” as NPR calls it.

Ritter’s poetic and raw lyrics are the words of an honest bluesman. His diction is warm as he discusses lost loves, political turmoil and worries about our world. Ritter shows no shortage of creativity anytime soon. Fever Breaks comes out April 26, but you can listen now on NPR First Listen.
