Multi GRAMMY® Winner Eliane Elias’ live album AO VIVO is out today. The highly-anticipated album recorded live in its entirety Oct. 21, 2023, at the SFJAZZ Center’s Miner Auditorium features Eliane Elias on piano and vocals with guitarist Leandro Pellegrino, bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Rafael Barata. The repertoire for AO VIVO draws mainly from Elias’s GRAMMY-winning discography—including Made in Brazil, Dance of Time, Mirror Mirror, Quietude and Time and Again. It features her own composition “At First Sight” along with works by iconic composers Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ary Barroso, Dorival Caymmi and Armando Manzanero.
The songs are sequenced and presented as they were performed, in crystalline sound that transports the listener to SFJAZZ’s Robert N. Miner Auditorium, an innovative acoustic wonder built for jazz performance. “Over so many years of performing,” Elias says, “the intention has always been to hold the audience and keep them uplifted throughout the concert — so that in those ninety minutes they’re with us, it’s like nothing else exists.” Onstage, Elias is a magnetic force.
