Brennen Leigh Announces New Album, “Obsessed With the West”.

Brennen Leigh crafts a smart, sexy ode to western swing with help from Asleep at the Wheel on her new album, “Obsessed With The West”. Listen to first single “If Tommy Duncan’s Voice Was Booze” here. The full album will be released May 6th via Signature Sounds.

Brennen Leigh is a formidable songwriter. Just ask Rodney Crowell, Charley Crockett and LeAnn Womack, all of whom have recorded Leigh’s songs. On her new album Obsessed with the West, out May 6th on Signature Sounds, the genre-busting Fargo-born, Austin-incubated, Nashville resident has decided to create a smart, sexy ode to Western swing. And who better to back her than the modern-day Western swing champions Asleep at the Wheel. Leigh wrote or co-wrote all twelve tracks on the album, breathing a fresh breath into the genre and serving as the Cindy Walker to the Wheel’s Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys (if Walker had stood centerstage with the Playboys).
