Bossa nova star and GRAMMY Award-winning artist Eliane Elias releases her new album Love Stories (Concord), the latest addition to her expansive repertoire of over 30 records.
Love Stories, an orchestral album exhibiting Elias’ expansive versatility features three originals, seven compositions from bossa nova’s golden age, including songs made famous by artists like Frank Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Elias has played the roles of vocalist, pianist, arranger, composer, lyricist, and producer on this record.
Elias invited some of her favorite Brazilian rhythm section players to join her – Marcus Texiera on guitar and Edu Ribeiro, Rafael Barata and Celso Almeida on drums – plus her core collaborators, co-producer and bassist Marc Johnson and co-producer Steve Rodby.
Elias shares her intentions for Love Stories: “The idea for this album was to bring life to various stories of love and loving through this collection of songs.” She executes her musical vision with emotional storytelling, aptly naming her record.
