C.J. Chenier will accept a “Lifetime Achievement” Grammy award on behalf of his father, Clifton Chenier, at a special invitation-only ceremony, which will be held during GRAMMY Week on Saturday, January 25, 2014. A formal acknowledgment will be made during the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, which will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, 2014 and broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
Clifton was a pioneer of Zydeco music, a true originator, and one of the great creative forces in American Music. This is truly an honor.
